I saw this article last week relating the Q2 market share percentages for the different mobile platforms. It seems many cell upgrades are moving to android units. I remember about 6 months ago when Apple CEO Steve Jobs laughed at a question about pending threat from Android, reminding the audience at the conference that BlackBerry and Windows Mobile still had more significant market share.

I'm sure customers irritation with "more bars in more places"... that don't work, has something to do with this growth in Verizon and Sprint smart phones.

The smart phone market is still growing, and so is the consumers desire for the connected life. It is more important now for marketers to acknowledge (if they haven't yet) so that they can harness that desire and provide solutions that make users lives easier.

Kudos goes to Chase Bank for their harnessing this with Instant Deposits on iPhones. Now when will the app be releasing for Android and BlackBerry?

I was very skeptical about the potential for the iPad until I saw this. The iPad could singlehandedly save the subscription model for magazines. I cant wait to see what else Adobe has made possible with the new CS5 software coming out.

Great Service

>> Friday, March 19, 2010

I feel that when someone has committed honorable service, that they should be thanked. The same holds true for a company, and the best way to thank them is to tell the world about the service they performed. About 2 weeks ago my 2 year old amplifier used for my computer speakers blew its fuse. I replaced the fuse only to get the same result. I called Emotiva and got directly to a human being who forwarded me directly to a technician.

I started telling him what was going on and the first thing he did was ask me for my name because “he always likes to know who he is talking with.” Emotiva effectively put my concern at ease and had an RMA issued to me, covered by warranty, within 10 minutes.

Besides their great service, the BPA-1 (the product at question) has been an amazing product. The quality is unbelievable for the low price I got it for and after this experience I will definitely be going back to them for more in the future! Emotiva is a great way to get audiophile quality gear at very reasonable prices.

Disney 2010 Marathon Weekend

>> Thursday, January 14, 2010

For the past two years, I have had the privilege of participating in the Disney Marathons through Distance 4 Dreams, a group on UD's campus that raises money to send a child with a life threatening illness and his or her family to Disney World.

If you would have told me three years ago that I would be able to run 13, 26 or 39 miles in one weekend, I would tell you that you were crazy. Having a group to run with, and a cause to run for makes it all a breeze, and I cannot think of any better reason to be in Florida in January.

This year, my mom and grandma were able to come down to see the races; this is a picture from after the full marathon with both of them. I was really happy to have them down there with me, and sorry that my dad couldn't make it. 2011, Dad?

...and yes, I ran all 39.3 miles in the over sized orange hat. The random cheerers really helped get me through!
